Retreats and planning sessions that end in decisions
Retreat & strategic planning facilitation
Most leadership teams don't lack ideas. What they lack is protected time, honest conversation, and a clear way to turn both into commitments. I design and facilitate retreats and strategic planning sessions that get the right issues on the table and send everyone home knowing what happens next.
As a former executive, I've sat on both sides of the retreat room. I know how to read a group, hold space for hard conversations, and keep things moving toward outcomes.
Recent work: In 2026, I co-facilitated a leadership retreat for a cross-disciplinary group of clinical and research leaders at a major academic medical center.
What I facilitate
• Executive team and board retreats
• Annual and multi-year strategic planning
• Cross-functional alignment sessions, e.g. quality, experience, and operations
• Post-merger or post-reorganization team resets
• Leadership offsites focused on culture, accountability, and change
How it works:
1. Discovery. Conversations with the sponsor and key participants so the agenda targets the real issues.
2. Design. A custom agenda, pre-work, and materials.
3. Facilitation. In person or virtual, half-day to multi-day.
4. Follow-through. A written summary of decisions, owners, and next steps, plus an optional 30/60/90-day check-in.
Proof from my executive career
• At Cambia, I built the inaugural Integrated Strategy Management function and moved the Corporate Balanced Scorecard from activities to outcomes.
• At Providence, I instituted disciplined prioritization frameworks that focused leadership on what drives results.
